ISTRIA MEADIA DAYS / Istria Media Studies II is a cooperation program of the South East Europe Media Organization (SEEMO, Secr. Gen. Mag. Oliver Vujovic) and European Society of Education and Communication (ESEC, Pres. em. Univ. Prof. Dr. Thomas A. Bauer, University of Vienna), both organizations based in Vienna, Austria. The program is promoting the science-, research- and expert–based analysis of journalism, media management, and media practice facing the social and media changes in Europe as elsewhere. The transnational and trans-cultural, as well as the trans-level (scientists, professional experts, students) exchange is meant as the characteristic mark of the IMD program.
ISTRIA MEDIA DAYS (IMD) is next to other activities the core project of the SEEMO-ESEC – cooperation, realized annually in the neighborhood area of Italy, Croatia and Slovenia, commonly known as Istria, and originally intended as a Europe-related academic discourse fostering the critical research and observation of journalism practice in European regions. Facing the media-inherent trend of globalization of all the media-related dimensions of societal communication, the IMD widen their interest of cooperation beyond the European sphere assuming that there is a worldwide discomfort about media practice and therefore a global necessity of building and sharing knowledge on both levels, theory and practice. The IMD seminar intends to enhance the critical study of the phenomena of globe-wide media change by exchanging findings of theory and practice.
INVITATION:
We invite you, dear distinguished colleagues, to participate with your students giving a presentation, maybe as a part of your lecture program, sharing it within this IMD online seminar. So you will widen and enlarge your audience (students, academia colleagues, professionals) beyond the borders of your institution and your students will widen and enlarge the sources (scientists, professionals, students) of their learning program. You can chose a topic that – by theory, practice, or research – related to the overall theme program of the IMD24.
We hope to reach your and your students interest, we would appreciate your engagement and participation. We would be happy to get to know what topic you would issue for a 15 – to 20 min. presentation. Please, let us know your title and a 3-5- lines abstract. Use for this the online registration. If there are preferencies for the time at time table, let us know, please. We will try to organize the time table according to your opportunities as far as possible.
