On June 18, 2023 ESEC had the honour to receive a visit from the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology (USST), headed by the Vice President Prof. Cai Yonglian, accompanied by Prof. Chen Qui, Deputy Dean Sino-German College, by Prof. Chen Hong, Deputy Dean Huiyang College, and by Mr. Xu Jingwei, the Executive Director International Affairs Office.
The purpose of the meeting was to scout and to identify fields of scientific cooperation to mutually benefit from strengths and to enhance the transnational perspective of research and societal mission in order to live up the increasing international (EU-China) interweaving of questions and solutions.
There are challenges especially in those areas, where technology meets communication, education, art, new formats of social encounter and discourse: the technique-cultural formats of sociability, mediality, automatization, digitalisation in relation to challenges like environment, peace building, migration etc. ESEC is proud of that academic connection and motivated to contribute to a fruitful cooperation.
